We were the first to tell you that Ayushmann will be seen in the film, which also features Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh (Anushka signs Ayushmann, January 16).
However, now, the deal has fallen through.
We hear, when the actor quoted his price, it left the producers in shock. Anushka made it clear that it is a medium-budget film and she could not cough up the amount Ayushmann demanded.
Said a source, “It would have seriously inflated the film’s budget. It was best to let go of Ayushmann than to give in to his price.”
They are now looking for a replacement for the Anshai Lal-directed rom-com. “The role suited Ayushmann but now they’ll just have to find someone along the same lines,” the source added.
Both Anushka and Ayushmann remained unavailable for comment.
