Disha Patani DROPPED From SOTY 2, Sara Ali Khan To Romance Tiger

After months of considering a number of actors for the sequel of his 2012 high school romance drama, Student Of The Year (SOTY), Karan Johar had finally zeroed in on Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani and TV actress Tara Sutaria.

However, SpotboyE.com can now tell you that SOTY 2 will see a change of cast. While Tiger will play the male lead, his girlfriend, Disha Patani is no more a part of the film. We hear, Tara is also unlikely to make it to the final cut. The hunt for the second girl has restarted.
What caused the celebrated filmmaker to change his mind, you ask?
Well, buzz is, after speculations of Sara Ali Khan’s debut project opposite Hrithik Roshan taking time to kick-off, Amrita Singh had a chat with Karan a few days ago. Amrita expressed to Karan that she is keen that her daughter is launched by the filmmaker.

And now, we hear that Disha and Tara will not be doing the film.
Says a source, “Naturally, Disha is disappointed. She had kept a chunk of dates aside for SOTY 2 and may now have an empty date diary.”
This is not the first time that the M.S. Dhoni actress has been ousted from a project. She had earlier lost out on Tiger Shroff and Shradhha Kapoor-starrer Baaghi 2.
On the other hand, it’s a big moment for Sara Ali Khan who is now gearing up for the sequel to SOTY, the first part of which had propelled Alia, Sidharth and Varun to stardom.
