THE BIG FIGHT: Vidya Balan Locks Horns With Sachin Tendulkar
Begum Jaan new release date announced, and Sachin has an encounter set up for him off the field!
Vidya Balan just took to social media to announce the release date of her next film, Begum Jaan. The film, which was previously slated to release on March 17, will now release on April 14.
However there is a slight problem.
On April 14, Sachin Tendulkar's much awaited biopic, Sachin: A Billion Dreams is also set to hit theatres. Considering Sachin's immense fan following, we might have an interesting contest there.
If we recall, Begum Jaan was previously slated to clash at the box-office on March 17 with Amitabh Bachchan's Sarkar 3, but Ram Gopal Varma decided to push the date to April 7. Although getting to release the third instalment of the Sarkar franchise on his birthday, Ramu will still have to face tough competition from Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer Jagga Jasoos.
Coming back to Begum Jaan, the film is said to be a historical drama and a remake of the 2015 Bengali film Rajkahini. Balan plays the lead role of a brothel's madam.
Apart from Begum Jaan, Vidya also has Tumhari Sulu releasing this year. The comedy drama, produced by Atul Kasbekar, Tanuj Garg and Bhushan Kumar, where Vidya plays a radio jockey is set to hit theatres on December 1.
