Manish Malhotra goes elemental

You Wore WHAT!?
For his summer/resort 2016 line at Lakme Fashion Week, Manish Malhotra chose to be inspired by the elements and hence his collection was also titled ‘Elements’.
The collection depicted fire, earth, water and air. And so there were shades of orange, blue and off-white.
The line was all about flowy silhouettes for both men and women.
But since this was a Manish Malhotra line, the collection was tailor-made for the shaadi season with sheer overlays and sequins.
In all 75 looks were presented against the backdrop of a 25-foot tree called Tree of Life which had some 30,000 paper birds suspended from it.
While the collection was traditional with lehengas and kurtas, it also had a contemporary and international flair to it. So you got gowns, jumpsuits and peplum tops paired with lehengas.
It’s a pretty collection that’s got a lot on offer and it’s perfect for an outdoor summer wedding. You know, if you can afford it all.
