‘Hot’ Karan Patel leaves Yeh Hai Mohabbatein shoot in a huff
The show’s crew was left high and dry after the actor refused to shoot for a hijack sequence, citing extreme heat as the reason. The team later finished work using a dupe
The crew of hit TV show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein had a harrowing time yesterday. Blame it all on Mumbai’s scorching summer and the heat of Karan Patel’s ire.
SpotboyE has it that the actor, who plays male lead Raman, left the shoot mid-way saying he can’t bear the heat anymore.
The team is currently shooting a hijack sequence at the Thakur Institute of Polytechnic (Kandivli), inside a dummy plane.
A source says: “Karan lost his cool and just gave a few close-ups. He said he couldn’t shoot as it was extremely hot inside the flight. He should have realised that we are also shooting under the same circumstances. We have no option, but he can get away with it as he is a star. Finally, we completed the shoot with his dupe.”
This is not the first time such complaints have surfaced about Karan. A crew member had earlier told us on the condition of anonymity: “Karan doses off in his vanity van whenever he feels like and in order to not waste time, we shoot sequences with Divyanka Tripathi (she plays female protagonist Ishita). But of late, even Divyanka has started refusing, saying she cannot be constantly filling up for him.”
At the time of going online, Karan had reported for the shoot. Wish the team has a smooth ‘flight’ today.
