Disha Vakani, who essays the role of Daya Ben on Taarak
Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has entered the 7th month of her pregnancy and
the actress was surprised with a baby shower ceremony yesterday.
The event was organised by family members and held at her
residence in Powai between 9 am and 2 pm.
The mommy-to-be looked adorable in a heavy saree
accessorised by flower jewellery.

Besides her family, her co-stars from Taarak Mehta Ka
Ooltah Chashmah such as Dilip Joshi (Jethalal), Munmum Dutta (Babita), Ambika
Ranjankar (Komal Hathi), Kavi Kumar Azad (Dr Hansraj Hathi), Bhavya Gandhi
(Tapu) and Samay Shah (Gogi) among others turned up to bless the actress.
Disha Vakani tied the knot with Mayur Padia, a Mumbai
based chartered accountant on 24th November 2015, and this is the couple’s
first child together.
Meanwhile, SpotboyE.com was the first to tell you
that Disha wrapped up the shoot of the popular comedy show on September 17,
which also happened to be her birthday, and is currently on maternity leave.
After the news of her being in the family way came
forth, rumours claimed that Disha will quit the show and that the producers of
Taark Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah are looking for a replacement.
Later, Producer Asit Modi clarified that Disha will continue to be a part of
the show.
Disha's mother-in-law used to accompany her to the sets during her pregnancy,
to make sure that she was comfortable. Considering her delicate condition, the
makers had also reduced her shooting hours.
