Sara Khan replaces Mahek Chahal in Kawach
Mahek, who plays the character of Monjulika in the series, is unable to shoot due to her leg injury
SpotboyE.com was the first to tell you that Mahek Chahal was on her way out of Ekta Kapoor’s show Kawach (Is Mahek Chahal quitting the TV show Kawach?, June 28).
Now, that Sara Khan has been roped in to step into Mahek’s shoes.
Mahek plays the role of Monjulika in the supernatural thriller that also stars Mona Singh and Vivek Dahiya. The actress had torn her ligament and fractured her knee just a few weeks before the show’s launch.

While Mahek had initially thought that she would be able to continue shooting despite the injury, she later told SpotboyE.com how she was finding it physically straining to perform the daunting stunts. The actress had said, “Many other actors in my place would have sat at home, but I am still going to work. Currently, I am in a lot of pain and I don’t think that I’ll be able to do the stunts.”
