It happened at the Star Parivaar Awards and it has gone unreported. Andar ki baat hai na!
The 'Most Difficult Star of Indian Television' and 'The Bad Boy Of Indian Television' Karan Patel paralysed everyone around with shock when he suddenly caught hold of an office boy from a leading channel and started beating him black and blue.

No amount of intervention could arrest Karan's aggression, and it was only after he had ended his (unpardonable) outburst that he realised that he had bashed up someone whom he 'mistook' for someone else!
Was Karan tipsy? But does that absolve him from his act of violence?
The office boy in question was trembling with fear and wailing aloud, but did anybody come to his rescue? No, nobody did. You know duniya kaisi hai.
Karan apologised later, but does that give him a right to do whatever he wants?

Sometime ago, he lost his cool when he saw a lot of media personnel gathered outside his Yeh Hai Mohabbatein co-star Divyanka Tripathi's wedding reception. When they requested him to pose for a pic, an angry Karan held his wife Ankita Bhargava by the hand and rushed inside. Three months ago, Karan threw a big fit on the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein sets when he refused to wear a particular shirt given to him. 'Main yeh nahin pehnoonga, aap chahe kuch bhi kar lo', these were the words that were coming out from Karan Patel's make-up room. Karan had not liked the shirt that was given to him, and no amount of cajoling would make him bend. The scene in question could not be shot with Karan that day because he was in a very bad mood. And, not to forget the way he tortured his ex Kamya Punjabi. There were days when Karan even raised his hand on her, not to forget the volley of abuses he had started hurling at her. He started telling her: Ya toh tum mere sharan mein raho, ya phir charan mein. Fights had become more frequent between the two. When one of their arguments got out of hand one day, Karan sent her a video where he was drinking and saying: Ab tu dekh main kya karta hoon. Not even in her wildest dream did Kamya think that Karan would take any drastic step, but the next thing she knew and mind you, in just three days was that, Karan announced in newspapers that he was marrying Ankita Bhargava, daughter of Abhay Bhargava who played his father-in-law in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein!
