The Kapil Sharma Show Slips 6 Positions In 7 Days
Your weekly dope on the ongoing TV shows. The Kapil Sharma Show, which has rarely missed a spot in the Top 5, is now scraping the bottom of the barrel
The atmosphere in Sony office is glum as their only
on-air comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show, continues to grab headlines for the
wrong reasons. The makers have not gotten over the mid-air flight row between
Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover as a result of which Sunil, Chandan Prabhakar,
Ali Asgar and Sugandha Misra deserted the show.
The impact of the controversy has evidently spilled into
the show’s ratings. For the first time in months, The Kapil Sharma Show has
found itself at the bottom of the barrel. In Week 12 (March 17-23), the comedy
show acquired the 10th spot, a massive drop from Week 11 where it was at No. 4.
March 18’s episode had the chirpy Anushka Sharma
promoting Phillauri, March 19 saw a 9-women gang led by Vidya Balan (Team Begum
Jaan) entertaining the audience.
While the episodes were shot before the fight erupted, it
is clear that the audience was disconnected and hence did not lap it up like
before.
If you ask us, this is just the beginning. We wouldn’t be
surprised if The Kapil Sharma Show doesn’t feature in the Top 10 in Week 13.

Moving on, the rest of the leader-board didn’t undergo a
striking change. Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 2 retained its numero uno position, while
Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stayed put at No.2.

Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya too acquired the No. 3 position.
Mythological show, Karmphal Data Shani, registered slight improvement in
ratings and clinched the 4th spot.

Colors’ Ek Shringaar…Swabhimaan, is back in the coveted
list and was the 5th most watched show in Week 12. The family drama has lots
going on with Meghna (Sangeita Chauhan) striving to make Nand Kishore (Vinay
Jain) repent for insulting her mother, Sharda (Prachi Shah).

Making a comeback in the Top 10 is also Sa Re Ga Ma Pa
Little Champs. The talent hunt has its loyal fan following and despite the 2
week lull, acquired the 9th spot. Let’s wait and watch to see if the show
continues to register a consistent performance.
