A few days ago, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma's daughter Vamika got rape and death threats. As reported in ANI, the news agency, an accused named Ramnagesh Alibathini has been arrested by Mumbai Police Cyber Cell from Hyderabad and brought to Mumbai. The 23- year old is a software engineer and works at a food delivery app. The accused via a now-deleted Twitter account @Criccrazyygirl has penned rape threats to the star couple’s daughter.
ANI Tweeted, “Mumbai Police Cyber Cell arrests a man from Hyderabad for giving online rape threats to daughter of an Indian cricketer following team's loss against Pakistan in T20 World Cup. The man, identified as one 23-year-old Ramnagesh Alibathini, is being brought to Mumbai: Mumbai Police” The accused did this after Virat stood in support of Pakistani player Mohammed Shami when he faced online abuse after India lost a cricket match against Pakistan at T20 WC. As soon as the news was out, Delhi Commission for Women too taken suo-motu cognizance of these threats made to Virat-Anushka’s daughter.
Anushka Sharma too following this unpleasant incident had slammed the troll in one of her social media posts. Her post read, “Coach it's easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
Mohammad Shami was blamed for team Indian losing a match against Pakistan.
