On January 8, Hrithik Roshan revealed that his father, Rakesh Roshan, had been diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago. The superstar put out the post on the day the filmmaker went into surgery. Alongside a picture of him along with Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik wrote, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn't miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. Love you Dad.”
Now, Rakesh Roshan has been discharged from the hospital and Hrithik posted pictures of the family on social media and wrote, “Cant stop. Wont stop. We begin again. And again.” We are glad to see the filmmaker smiling.

The superstar had even informed well-wishers post his father’s surgery. While replying to Narendra Modi, who had tweeted for Roshan’s good health, he wrote, “Thank you Sir for your concern and good wishes. I am very happy to inform that according to the doctors his surgery has gone off well.”
Soon after Hrithik revealed that Rakesh Roshan was battling cancer, a number of celebrities including Abhishek Bachchan, Tiger Shroff, Isha Koppikar, Vishal Dadlani and superstar’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan took to social media to wish him good health. Welcome back, sir!
