Priyanka Chopra walking out of Salman Khan's Bharat is an
issue which refuses to die down. The numerous times Salman has been meeting the
media, this is a question that is a must. During a recent interview with Bombay
Times, when Salman was asked about the whole controversy with Priyanka he
mentioned that he wasn't angry at her at all, but would have wished that she
informed them beforehand.
"She (Priyanka) had a reason to do that. It's just
that the project got stuck. Had we known earlier, we could have worked it out
better. She was getting engaged and I told her, 'If you are getting engaged,
what's the need (of exiting the project)?' Then she said, 'Shaadi karni hai' to
which I said 'Toh shaadi kar lo'. Priyanka's work was for 75-80 days. Shaadi ke
liye chaar din ka preparation, aur chaar din ki shaadi, aath din ke andar ho
gayi aur phir uske baad honeymoon. So, we said we will work it out. But she was
very clear that she didn't want to be a part of the film. It must have been
very difficult for her to make this decision because she was very keen to work
on this project. She has called up Arpita (Khan Sharma) a thousand times,
saying, 'I want to work with Salman'. She has even called up Ali (Abbas Zafar,
director) and told him, 'See if you can get me something in this
film',"said Salman.

Priyanka and Arpita are really good friends, and it was
because of this that she was seen at PeeCee's engagement. She was one of the
few people from the film industry who attended the intimate family gathering of
the engagement. Even the party in the evening of the same day was attended by
Arpita with hubby Ayush Sharma.

Talking of Bharat, Katrina Kaif was roped in for the film
a couple of days after Priyanka walked out. During an interview director Ali
Abbas Zafar had said that Katrina had expressed her desire to work in Bharat
long back, and said that she would somehow make an appearance in the film. With
Priyanka walking out of the film, she was the obvious choice of the makers of
the project.

The crew has already shot the first schedule of the film
in Malta with Salman and Katrina. Soon they will be starting the next schedule.
Salman will be shooting simultaneously for the film and Bigg Boss 12, which he
launched a couple of days back in Goa.
Coming back to Salman's interview, the Dabangg star also
added, "Not doing this (Bharat) had to be because of the wedding or
because she doesn't want to work with me anymore. It could also be because she
doesn't want to work in humari industry (Bollywood) or wants to work only in
Hollywood. Whatever she wants to do, I wish her all the best in life. We are
glad that she is engaged and happy." Priyanka hasn't yet opened up about
the whole controversy. Only time will tell what her side of the story is.
