Bhumi and Akshay have finally started shooting for the Neeraj Pandey film and they announced it to the world with this quirky picture. The duo seem to be in a desi avatar for the film which is set in the rural hinterland of the country.
The film was expected to go on floors in December but it looks like they have got an early start. The film has kick-started in Govardhan, Uttar Pradesh.
Akshay will be there for the next 20 days and reports say that he will then travel to Nandgaon for a schedule.
Buzz is, the film is based on PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat campaign. It will be a light-hearted comedy revolving around this campaign, with a love story woven into it.
This film will be the second big screen outing for Bhumi. She made her Bollywood debut opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in Yash Raj’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015.
She was set to reunite with Ayushmann but their film Manmarziyan is on hold, SpotboyE.com was the first to bring you the news that brakes had been applied on this film (Aanand L Rai puts Ayushmann-Bhumi’s Manmarziyan on hold, Aug 1).
But now Bhumi has Akshay as her new leading man. And that is definitely an improvement.
