Akshay: I Hate The Fact That Sidharth Is So Good-looking

Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra may play warring siblings in Karan Johar's Brothers. But off-screen, their camaraderie is to be seen to be believed. SpotboyE.com caught up with the duo for a quick chat. Excerpts:
Brothers is a remake of the successful Hollywood movie Warriors. Did that put any added pressure on you?
Akshay: I did watch the original. But there was absolutely no pressure. I'm happy with the way the movie has turned out.
Did you both have to adopt rigorous workout regimen to build your physique for the movie?
Akshay: We had made a small gym near the ring and we used to train for 4 hours daily. Sidharth trained more than me because he was more bulky.
Sidharth: I gained about 10 kilos for the film. We had great trainers brought in from L.A; we both trained with them. For 4 months, all I did was eat, train and sleep.
Akshay, your character is quite complex and layered. Was it demanding to play the role?
Akshay: No, it didn't take a toll on me at all. I was paid very well (Laughs).
Your son Aarav is following in your footsteps and learning karate. Would you like him to take up dramatics too?
Akshay: No, he is just 12. I would like to give him time and let him do whatever he enjoys.
This movie marks your first collaboration with Karan Johar, who has always been a family friend to you. So do you prefer Karan, the producer or Karan, the friend?
Akshay: Karan, the producer.
What are the 3 things you hate about Sidharth?
Akshay: He is always on time; that is supposed to be my forte. He is disciplined and he is a good-looking guy.
Sidharth, what are the 3 things you love about Akshay?
Sidharth: First, I like his lifestyle. Plus, he is really fit and I'm a fan of his fitness. Finally, he speaks very good Punjabi and cracks good 'non-veg' jokes. (Laughs)
