Review Hai Mushkil: OK Jaanu! Tepid, Sappy And Half-Baked!
In the last 8 years, Bollywood has churned out several remakes from the cog which were total no-brainer regurgitation from the Southern film industry. Most of them worked as they were from a single genre, Action and Adventure. But when it came to more nuanced genres such as drama and romance, Bollywood has either produced half-baked by-products or simply stayed away from it.

After a brief hiatus of sorts, Mani Ratnam stepped into the fray with O Kadhal Kanmani, a film that may not have been your typical Mani Ratnam opus but rather an uncharacteristic experiment to begin with. The result of this experiment was seen across India; fans from all across the country loved the film for its relatable theme, brilliant performances, music and even the overall look and feel.

When fans heard that KJo and Dharma picked up the film for a Hindi remake, they were already skeptical about it as the two characters were perfectly ingrained in people’s minds as Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon. Even the film’s trailer did not help much as it revealed the entire plot in one go without a highlight or any cliff-hanger that fans can look out for. Even the music was not spared as the public unanimously bashed AR Rahman for his very own rendition of the original soundtrack and Humma Humma.

But a preconceived notion and added misconception always does more harm than good; so we went with an open mind to watch OK Jaanu and here’s what we thought of the film. (Check the video above)
