This Friday witnessed three big movies clashing at
the box-office. Akshay Kumar, Pooja Hegde, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti
Sanon, and Kriti Kharbanda starrer Housefull 4 set up a clash with Rajkummar
Rao-Mouni Roy starrer Made In China and Taapsee Pannu-Bhumi Pednekar led Saand
Ki Aankh. Friday being the pre-Diwali day, which is considered to be low for
the movie business, saw Housefull creating waves at BO with its collections.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Housefull has opened on double-digit. The film
has collected Rs 18.85 crore on Day 1.
Trade Analyst Taran Adrash tweeted the numbers of film collections and wrote, “#HouseFull4 puts up a healthy number on Day 1... Biz did not grow in evening due to pre-#Diwali festivities... SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the films with
3 stars and wrote, “A story of reincarnation and mixed identities whose origin
stems from Akshay Kumar having glimpses of what happened in his life 600 years
ago is fine, but what happens in Sitamgarh should have stayed in Sitamgarh and
if not, shouldn't have been thrown out as at least a full-on 1-hour track. The
storytelling tends to dip in that land of Rajas and Maharajas and by the time
it recovers, a lot of time has been lost. Post interval, the comic caper picks
up again. The loose ends are quickly tied up. The editing becomes slicker just
like at the start. The climax is quite hilarious.”
