Pad Man Box-Office Collection, Day 2: Akshay Kumar Starrer TAKES A LEAP; Amasses Rs 13.68 Crore

Pad Man featuring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor continues to soar at the box-office. The second day collections of Pad Man are here and the film has managed to collect Rs 13.68 crore. It collected Rs 10.26 crore on Day 1. The total collections of the film stand at Rs 23.94 crore (till now).

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share he figures. He tweeted: #PadMan makes RAPID STRIDES on Sat... Picks up SPEED... Biz should be STRONG on Sun too... HEALTHY weekend is on the cards... Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr. Total: ₹ 23.94 cr. India biz.

Co-produced by Twinkle Khanna and Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment, Pad Man, has also received fairly good reviews from most sections of the media. For those who've come in late, SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani gave it a 4-and-a-half star rating.

Pad Man opening day collections were quite similar to Akshay Kumar’s last money spinner Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. It got a decent start of around 20-25%. While the film is doing brisk business in big cities, the smaller sectors are yet to catch up, said a report in Box Office India. With Tiger Zinda Hai having gone off cinemas in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and Padmaavat not playing in these states, Pad Man has an open field in these markets.

What also works in the favour of Pad Man in big centres is that Padmaavat has already had a two-week run, and audiences are looking for new content at cinemas. R Balki’s film satiates that thirst. Pad Man rides on Akshay Kumar’s star power. Kumar’s earlier grossers Airlift and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha had opened to similar numbers, Rs 11.12 Cr and 11 Cr respectively.
