Kangana Ranaut is feisty and ferocious in the first teaser
of Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. She screams for attention, and rightfully
so. From her powerful scenes to incredible action sequences, everything about
this teaser spells magic. Amitabh Bachchan's rich baritone as the surtadhar
sets the mood just right.
Produced by Kamal Jain and Zee Studios, and starring Kangana Ranaut in and as Manikarnika, the film has been directed by Krish. The first teaser lays to rest the controversy about - who's in the director's chair, anyway. The teaser credits Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, popularly known as Krish, as the director. The film is set in the time when the British invaded India
and Manikarnika, popular as the Rani of Jhansi or Laxmi Bai, fought
courageously for her motherland. Kangana is swift and agile in the sword
fighting scenes.
Speaking about the film, Kangana had earlier told IANS,
"I am extremely proud of this film, portraying a character who empowers
and inspires. We have put in our heart, blood and sweat into making this film.
Manikarnika will make each and every Indian proud. I am quite ecstatic to
showcase the teaser to everyone on this special occasion of Gandhi
Jayanti." Well, it's finally here and it is breathtaking to say the least.
