TRAILER: Shraddha Kapoor & Arjun Kapoor’s Fresh Pairing Is A Delight To Watch In Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend
From love and passion to separation and anger, Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor-starrer Half Girlfriend, has all elements of a Bollywood romance drama
The trailer of Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Half Girlfriend is here and it takes fans through the lead pair’s bittersweet love story. The film, based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name, has Arjun and Shradhha paired up for the first time.
Arjun essays the role of Madhav Jha, a Bihari boy who meets Riya Somani (Shraddha), a dreamer, at St Stephens College, Delhi. Despite polar opposite backgrounds they bond on basketball and thus begins a relationship like no other.
The latter half of the story focuses on Madhav looking for Riya in New York. While Arjun-Shraddha’s pairing shows much promise, we couldn’t help but notice that the actor’s Bihari accent is off putting. The recently released Badrinath Ki Dulhania had lead actors, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, acing their UP accent, hence it will be difficult for fans to settle for anything less than perfection.
Furthermore, the character of Arjun’s best friend played by Vikrant Massey leaves an impact despite less screen time.
The makers of Half Girlfriend have been teasing fans with posters and the lead pair’s looks periodically.

Shraddha will render vocals for a romantic number in the project. Mithoon has composed an 18-minute-long song in Half Girlfriend. Swagger composer Tanishk Bagchi, Ami Mishra, Rishi Richa and Arko also have composed music for the film.
The film’s principal photography commenced in June 2016 and filming locations include New York City, Cape Town, Delhi and Bihar. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on May 19 2017.
