'Salman Khan Was Scared Of Our Telepathic Connection,' Says Vinay Sapru On His Partnership With Radhika Rao- EXCLUSIVE
Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao have worked together as a director duo for more than two decades. Their career started with the music video of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Kinna Sohna. The duo went on to direct three films and a lot of music videos. In recent times, there is rarely any music video that doesn’t have their name to it. Talking about this partnership, Vinay says they complete each other professionally.

“I am okay as a writer while Radhika ma’am is fab at it. During my film school days, I was always dependent on other writers on the story level. When I first met Radhika, I asked her to write something. It was a commercial for a phone network and it went to become a huge hit. From thereon, we started collaborating and now it has become our second nature,” he recalls. Vinay adds that before okaying any shot, he always looks at Radhika, no matter where she is and when she says okay, then only he okays the shot. “If the other person is not there, we start feeling uncomfortable. Once we were shooting with Salman Khan and I was at the monitor while she was almost half a kilometre away explaining something to him. I spoke on mic to tell her to explain something to Salman and co-incidentally, at the same moment, she was telling the very same thing to him. Even Salman was surprised by it and asked what kind of scary telepathic connection we have,” he laughs.  ALSO READ: Emraan Hashmi's Lut Gaye Director Vinay Sapru: 'I Was Told We Should Show Modernity, Sex And Exposure To Appeal To The Youth'- EXCLUSIVE

Talking about their connection with music, Vinay asserts that since they started with a music video, the path became inevitable for them. “Coming from film school, we came to Mumbai to make it big and after some initial small projects, we got our first big chance with a music video, Kinna Sohna by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sahab. We introduced Arjun Rampal with that video and it became a smash hit. And we got into that zone then. It was our calling in a way,” he concludes.
