Aamir Khan Reacts To Zaira Wasim Controversy, Says Leave Her Alone!

Yesterday we told you that after receiving severe backlash from netizens over meeting Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minsiter, Mehbooba Mufti, Dangal girl Zaira Wasim issued an apology, asserting that she is not proud of what she is doing (Dangal Actress Zaira Wasim Forced to Apologize For Online Trolls, Jan 16).

While several Bollywood celebs including Javed Akhtar, Anupam Kher and Swara Bhaskar among others came out in support of the 16-year-old actress, Zaira’s on-screen father, Aamir Khan had, until now, not commented on the controversy.

However, this morning, the superstar finally spoke in defence of Zaira and appealed to everyone to leave her alone! He insisted that she is a role model for him.

For those who have come in late, Zaira had met J&K Chief Minister a couple of days ago and shortly after pictures of the two posing together went viral, the actress began being trolled on social media. While the reason for people trolling her for this meeting isn't apparent, it is being speculated that people of J&K aren’t happy with Mehbooba and with a cinestar like Zaira meeting her it will only urge more and more people to like the CM.

Talking about her meeting with the Dangal actress, Mehbooba Mufti said, "When it comes to talent, youngsters from Jammu and Kashmir are next to none and we must celebrate them and not those who post their photos on Facebook with guns in their hands."

After Dangal, Wasim is set to be the main lead in Aamir's next release, Secret Superstar. She will be seen playing a Muslim girl who wears a burqa to hide her identity because her father is against her interest of pursuing music.
