The troubles around Adipurush do not seem to be ending anytime soon. While a lot has been said about the film, the discussions around its problems continue to escalate. Now, a recent report suggests that the Apex court has refused to hear the urgent mentioning of a plea against an order of the Allahabad High Court, which had directed the makers of the controversial movie "Adipurush" to appear before it on July 27.

The mega-budget retelling of the Hindu epic Ramayana performed poorly at the box office and the film invited flak for its unsatisfactory acting, poor VFX, and cringe dialogues. According to PTI, a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud asked the counsel appearing for the movie makers to mention it on July 13.

Earlier, on June 30, the high court ordered the makers of the controversial film to appear before it on July 27 and told the central government to form a committee to share its views on the film.

The hearing was based on separate petitions filed by Kuldeep Tiwari and Naveen Dhawan who were seeking a ban on the film.

Notably, director Om Raut, producer Bhushan Kumar and dialogue writer Manoj Muntasir were also ordered by the high court to appear before it on July 27 and also directed the central government to form a five-member committee to give its view on the film as to whether it had hurt the feelings of the public.

The court also directed the government to review the decision of granting of certificate to the movie. ALSO READ | Adipurush Writer Manoj Muntashir Issues Public Apology, Weeks After Defending Prabhas Starrer; Says, ‘People’s Emotions Have Been Hurt’
