Aditya Chopra Donates Entire Budget Of YRF’s 50 Years Celebration Towards COVID-19 Relief Work: Vivek Oberoi Appreciates The Decision; Tweets ‘Truly A Leader’

Filmmaker-producer Aditya Chopra is giving the entire budget of the Yash Raj Films (YRF) 50 Years celebration towards the COVID-19 relief work. As India fights against the second wave of the Coronavirus, the YRF head is doing his bit by extending support to the needy amidst these tough times. A report mentioned that the production company has also started an initiative where cooked meals will be provided to frontline workers in Mumbai’s Goregaon. As per a report, they will also be feeding people at quarantine centres in Andheri, from the YRF Studios Kitchen.

According to a News18 report, a trade source was quoted saying, “YRF will not be celebrating its 50th year even if things return to normalcy later, as Aditya Chopra has decided to divert this entire fund for Covid relief work. He is clear that the funds need to be used on an urgent basis to restart the industry first, as it has been hit the hardest because of the virus.” The source shared that Chopra wants to concentrate on helping the industry and the fraternity that has been a support system to YRF over the years.

Reacting to Aditya Chopra’s decision, actor Vivek Oberoi made a tweet and lauded it. On Saturday, the Saathiya actor made a tweet and penned a short note of appreciation. He wrote, “Hats off to #AdityaChopra for turning the budget of the incredible milestone of #YRF50 into a source of helping the people in need. Truly a leader, not just in the film fraternity but now also in humanity.@yrf#TeamYRF."


Meanwhile, Aditya Chopra’s latest decision comes after he wrote to the Maharashtra Chief Minister requesting if they could purchase vaccines for the 30,000 registered film industry workers. Last week, the filmmaker started the Yash Chopra Saathi Initiative which is aimed at providing financial support to industry workers.
