After Sharing A Rare Picture, Rahul Khanna Posts Emotional Message For Father Vinod Khanna

Rahul Khanna lost his father Vinod Khanna to cancer last week and has been reminiscing the time he shared with the veteran actor ever since.

A couple of days ago, Rahul shared a beautiful black-and-white picture of him and his brother Akshaye enjoying a seaside vacation with their superstar father

Now, he has posted another heart-warming picture of Vinod Khanna kissing a baby Rahul and captioned it as, “You showed me how to be a gentleman and yet fight to the finish like a warrior. Bye Dad. 1946 – 2017 (sic).”

Rahul had flown back from the US (where he is based) to be by his ailing father’s side during his last days. Vinod Khanna passed away on 27 April after battling bladder carcinoma.

He was admitted to Hurkison Das hospital on April 1 and the family had tried to keep the news of his ill-health under wraps. When the news broke, Rahul had given a statement saying that “dehydration” had caused the hospital stint.

After Vinod Khanna’s death, the hospital had released a statement, making it clear that bladder cancer was the reason of the ‘70s superstar’s death.

Rahul and Akshaye were present at Vinod Khanna’s funeral which took place at Worli Crematorium on Thursday (April 27) evening. The funeral was attended by family and several Bollywood celebs including Vinod Khanna's contemporaries such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Danny Denzongpa and Gulzar.

Before Vinod Khanna fell ill, the superstar shot for Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi, in which he is playing the king of Gwalior, opposite Hema Malini who essays Vijaya Raje Scindia.
