Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s love story is no less than a fairy tale. Fans went berserk when the couple announced the news of their union in 2007. One can’t forget the crowd outside Big B’s bungalow on the day of Abhishek and Aishwarya’s wedding. They got married in an intimate ceremony at Bachchans’ residence. And obviously, Aishwarya can’t forget it either.
Recently, in an interview to Filmfare, Aishwarya recalled the moment when Abhishek proposed to her and also what was Hrithik Roshan’s reaction on hearing the news. The actress was on-the-sets of Jodha Akbar when Ashutosh Gowarikar confirmed the news with Aishwarya.
“Ashutosh is like ‘you are engaged’ and I am like ‘yeah,’” Aishwarya narrated the moment with enthusiasm. She also revealed that on hearing the news, Hrithik gave her an excited thumbs up. Aishwarya recalled that the crew was filming the Khwaja Mere Khwaja sequence that day and how bizarre the experience was as the scene was also about the wedding. “We’re doing Khawja Mere Khwaja, sitting as a bride, and I am like, oh my god this is surreal, all happening on-screen, off-screen, this is bizarre,” she said.
