Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Ram Setu co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. However, the actor seems to have started his day on an emotional note.

On Wednesday, Akshay Kumar took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt post for his late mother, Aruna Bhatia. The Sooryavanshi actor shared a video and penned a heartfelt line.

Akshay captioned the video, “Yunhe aaj ma bohot yaad aa rahi hai. (Today I am missing my mother a lot.)”

In the video shared by Akki, he expressed how he is missing his mother, who passed away due to illness this year.

For the unversed, Aruna Bhatia passed away on September 8 this year. Akshay Kumar shared the heartbreaking news and expressed his grief in a social media post.

“She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti,” he wrote.

To note, Akshay Kumar was extremely close to his mother and was heartbroken about her demise.

A few days before Aruna Bhatia's death, Akshay, who was shooting for his upcoming film in the UK, returned to Mumbai to be with her. She was said to be unwell for a few days and was admitted to the Hiranandani Hospital, reported Hindustan Times.

Just a day before her death, Akshay asked his fans to pray for her. He took to Twitter and wrote: “Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough hour for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help.”

Workwise, Akshay joined Jacqueline for Ram Setu shoot. Reportedly, the location of the climax shoot changed from Sri Lanka to Daman due to permission issues amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

The film is being directed by Abhishek Sharma and backed by late Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra.
