Akshay Kumar REVEALS He Will Get His Indian Passport Soon, Says It Got Delayed Due To Covid-19; ‘Main Kya Karu, Maine Thodi Pandemic Laya’
Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar often comes under the radar of trolls for holding Canadian citizenship. No matter what he does, netizens troll him calling him ‘Canadian Kumar’ on social media. To note, in 2019 Akshay promised to apply for an Indian passport and now in a recent interview, he has given an update on his application process for his Indian passport. The Houseful actor revealed that his Indian passport got delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.   

Back in 2019 during Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Akshay was quizzed about the Indian citizenship process and he stated having a Canadian passport does not make him any less of an Indian. The 55-year-old actor was quoted saying,  “Having a Canadian passport does not mean I am any less of an Indian. I am very much Indian. I have been here since last nine years when I got the passport. He added that he had applied for it in 2019 but then the pandemic happened and everything remained closed for 2-2.5 years and hence his Indian passport got delayed. “Renounce ka abhi mera letter aagaya hai and very soon my whole passport will be coming. Main kya karu, maine thodi pandemic laya hai,” Kumar further asserted.

In an earlier interview with Lallantop, the Sooryavanshi opened up about getting trolled for his Canadian Citizenship and opined that people say a lot of things about him but he just would like to say that he is an Indian, and will always be. He also talked about his decision to leave India and revealed because his films were not working, almost his 14-15 films flopped ina row so he thought to shift to Canada for work.
