Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have finally announced the name of their newborn daughter on social media. The new mommy shared a cute picture of her and RK holding their daughter revealing they have named their baby girl Raha, which is chosen by Neetu Kapoor. While many showered love on the new parents, a certain section of people brutally trolled Alia and Ranbir for using Barcelona jersey to announce their child’s name in public.
On Thursday, Alia posted a picture on her Instagram handle revealing the significance of her child’s name in different languages. In the adorable blurry family click, RK was seen holding his little girl with Alia looking at her. One could also see a cute framed picture of the baby's Barcelona jersey with 'Raha' written on it. Soon after Alia posted this picture, some users went to extreme levels to troll the couple and took nasty digs at them for using Barcelona Jersey. One Insta user commented, “I don’t want to raise my daughter in public eye. But I will announce her name in public. Double standards! Waise bhi isko khud ka dimag toh hai nhi, dusron ko bass copy karti hai. While announcing the name of her daughter, Alia wrote, “The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings…Raha, in its purest form means divine path in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla - rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. And true to her name, from the first moment we held her - we felt it ALL! Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun.”
For the unversed, the Brahmāstra couple got married in April 2022 in an intimate ceremony at the actor’s house in Mumbai. Alia and Ranbir announced they are expecting their first child in June, nearly two months after their wedding.
