The name has a special connection with the late actor. It is reported that when Neetu Kapoor got to know about Alia-Ranbir’s decision, she got emotional and could not control her tears. However, earlier it was reported that Alia had already decided on a name for her daughter. On a reality show, the Raazi actress had once revealed she would like to name her daughter Almaa. It so happened that the new mom had visited a dance reality show to promote her film and there she asked a young contestant to spell her name. A little girl got so confused that she spelled her name as ‘A-L-M-A-A.’ Surprisingly, Alia liked the name and said, “Almaa bohot hi sundar naam hai, main apni beti ka naam Almaa rakhungi.”
Alia and Ranbir announced the arrival of their baby girl on social media by releasing a joint statement where they called their daughter ‘magical.’
