Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are among one of the most ideal couples in the history of Bollywood. It was on June 3, 1973, that the lovebirds tied the knot and, ever since then, both Amitabh and Jaya have been shelling out some major couple goals for generations. While their love story is all things filmy, did you know Amitabh and Jaya’s marriage plans, too, were quite adventurous, so much so, that it happened over a London trip? Well, Big B has made the big reveal!
While shooting for the upcoming episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 11, the Sholay actor reencountered the story behind his marriage to actress Jaya Bachchan. The megastar stated that it all happened while they were shooting for their film Zanjeer. Amid the same, Amitabh and Jaya decided that they will visit abroad if the film turns out to be successful. “I hadn’t been to London and neither did Jaya. So once the movie released and became a box office success, we thought of putting our plan into action,” revealed Big B.
Soon after the plan, the Deewar actor informed his parents that he will be jetting off to London with his friends. Well, his father then asked about the entire details, including the name of people Big B will be going with. And, as Amitabh mentioned Jaya’s name, his father ordered him to get married to Jaya and then proceed with his London trip. “When I mentioned Jaya’s name amongst other friends, he immediately told me that agar jaoge to vivaah kar ke jao… And that’s how we planned our wedding the very next day and proceeded to London.”
