After 27 years, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor have come for Umesh Shukla’s 102 Not Out.
Besides their reunion, what’s more special about the film is that Big B has lent his voice for a song in this movie too.
Well yes, Amitabh Bachchan has sung a reprised version of 'Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam' from the classic Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959).
Listen to his soulful voice:
Interestingly, the song, which has been arranged by Rohan Utpat and Vinayak K Salvi for 102 Not Out, is one of the Big B's favourite songs.
The original song was composed by SD Burman and sung by Geeta Dutt and picturized on Waheeda Rehman and Guru Dutt. While the original was a hearth-touching rendition, the reprised version is as deep and soothing.
Talking about 102 Not Out, it has brought these two legendary actors together as father-son. It is based on playwright Saumya Joshi’s well known Gujarati play by the same name and has been adapted into a feature film by him.
Director Umesh Shukla, spoke about the dream casting at a recent event. He had said, "102 Not Out is a highly entertaining and extremely successful Gujarati play that has won over the youth and family audiences across the board. The idea of adapting it into a Hindi feature came from the fact that the relationship between a parent and a child is universal and the one where love supersedes everything else, including age. Amitabh Sir and Rishi Sir together are a dream cast for anyone and I sensed a deep responsibility in bringing them together.”
Bhushan Kumar, 102 Not Out has hits the screens today (May 4).
