Actor Anupam Kher is usually seen sharing important messages regarding the COVID-19 scare or is seen posting motivational quotes and views on his social media handles. However, this time, he finds himself in the hot waters when he tweeted ‘Aayega toh Modi hi’ amidst COVID-19 chaos. It appeared that netizens did not like Kher’s tweet which said that it is important to criticise the government but at the same time it is each and everyone's responsibility to deal with it. Calling him out on the same, the Twitterati called him ‘spineless’ while some said ‘shame on you’. 
It so happened, a journalist tweet, accusing the Narendra Modi-led Centre of failing to effectively handle the current situation. Responding to the same tweet, Anupam Kher tweeted, “Yes !! It is too much. Even by your own standards. Corona is a disaster. For the whole world. We have never faced this epidemic before. It is important to criticize the government. We should be hurt. But it is also our responsibility to deal with it. Do not be alarmed. Aayega toh Modi hi!! Jai Ho,” he tweeted in Hindi. Soon, this tweet irked many and he faced the wrath of netizens who poured in some hurtful comments.

Among many, a user said, “Anupam Kher's today tweeted saying "Aayega to Modi hi" at the time when thousands are dying in India every day due to lack of medical facilities. It's better that our spineless celebs remain silent only.” While another one said, “Is it just me, or anyone else feeling it that those last line "आएगा तो मोदी ही" feels like कटे पे नमक right now.”
