Arbaaz Khan On Divorce With Malaika Arora: I’m Constantly In Touch With Her Regarding Our Son Arhaan's School And Career
Arbaaz Khan talks about his equation with ex-wife Malaika Arora and how they are doing their best to co-parent their son Arhaan Khan
The once IT couple of Bollywood, Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora left their fans in shock, when they announced their separation in 2017. In the past few years, the couple has worked on their relationship and are trying their best to co-parent their song Arhaan. They often become victims of trolling when they are snapped spending time together as a family. In a recent interaction, the actor spoke about receiving love as well and hate from the netizens on his relationship with his ex-wife.
During an interaction with ETimes, the actor spoke about building a relationship with Malaika for their son Arhaan, despite facing countless issues and the reasons behind their separation. He opened up about divorced couples setting their differences aside to come together for the sake of their kids. He went on to address all the time the ex-couple was trolled for being spotted together while receiving their kid and dropping him off at the airport. The 55-year-old stressed on the fact that the netizens only see what the paparazzis post on social media. They never get to see the celebrities in their personal time, which affects their thought process a lot. ALSO READ: WHAT! Arbaaz further added, “We celebrate Arhaan's birthday together. I am constantly speaking to Malaika regarding my son's work, his career or his responsibilities and needs. I am constantly in touch with her. And why not? Why should someone be surprised if I speak to my ex-wife about my son's life in university to keep a check on his needs. If his phone is busy, the next person I will call is his mother, my ex-wife.”
The Dabangg actor went on to explain that if people think that the ex-couple should only think about themselves after the separation, then they are naive. He continued, “If parents who are separated, stop talking to each other it might end up causing trauma to the child, maybe to some extent. Thankfully, our family doesn't have that fear. Arhaan has accepted that his father has moved on, his mother has moved on. He is doing fine, too.”
For the unversed, Malaika and Arbaaz officially got a divoce in 2017, ending their 18 years of marriage. They are co-parenting their son Arhaan. Currently, Malaika is happily dating actor Arjun Kapoor and Arbaaz is reportedly in a relationship with Giorgina Andriani.
