Arjun Kapoor Addresses Malaika Arora’s Past And Dating Someone Older With A Son From Earlier Marriage: ‘You Should Respect Your Partner’
In a recent interview, Arjun Kapoor was seen addressing girlfriend Malaika Arora’s past and dating someone who is older than him and has a son from her previous marriage
Actors Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have been dating for a while now but they made it official in 2019. Ever since they have made their relationship public, some fans just couldn’t stop hailing the actor for such a progressive decision while some criticised him for dating an older woman who bears a son from her first marriage. However, in a recent interview, the Gunday actor was seen addressing girlfriend Malaika Arora’s past and dating her. He feels that he should respect his partner’s past.
He even mentioned that he has been in a similar situation and it’s not always nice as ‘there are kids affected.’ Asked about dating ‘someone older with a son from an earlier marriage', he told Film Companion, “I don't try and be overly talkative about my personal life, because I feel you should respect your partner, and there is a past there... And I've been in that situation where I've seen things pan out publicly and it's not always very nice, because there are kids affected." Malaika Arora was married to Arbaaz Khan with whom she has a son named, Arhaan Khan.
He continued, "I try and keep a respectful boundary. I do what she's comfortable with. And my career should not hinge on my relationship. So you have to create boundaries. I talk about it today because there is a certain respect and regard given to the relationship. We have given it time. I have tried to give it a certain amount of dignity by giving it space, and not having it be in your face.”
Last year, in another interview, Arjun was asked about his marriage plans with Malla, to which, he quipped that even if they wanted to get married they can't, thanks to Coronavirus. He even said that he will not hide his decision to get married, but they aren't thinking about it at the moment.
