The Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Gulabo Sitabo was the first film to skip the theatrical release and have a digital release instead under lockdown. Gulabo Sitabo was scheduled to release on June 12 on streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. As the film released today, the Shoojit Sircar directorial has been winning praises from fans on social media. Now, after Gulabo Sitabo releases digitally, Ayushmann Khurrana pens down a heartfelt note thanking Shoojit Sircar for fulfilling his wish of working with Amitabh Bachchan.

Taking to his Instagram account, Ayushmann Khurrana shared a picture along with Amitabh Bachchan from the film and penned down a heartfelt note. Sharing the picture with Big B from a scene in the movie, Ayushmann wrote, “जब भी हमारे देश में कोई नौजवान अभिनय के क्षेत्र में कदम रखना चाहता है तो उसका ध्येय होता है अमिताभ बच्चन।“ In the post’s caption, the Gulabo Sitabo actor explained how whenever a young person in our country wants to step into the acting field, his aim is Amitabh Bachchan. He continued to share how there was a dialogue in his last film which spoke about how Bachchan is not made, he is just, him and wrote, “मेरी आख़िरी फ़िल्म में एक dialogue था कि बच्चन बनते नहीं है, बच्चन तो बस होते हैं।“

Moving on, Ayushmann went on to recall the memory of when he watched Amitabh Bachchan on the big screen for the first time in the film Hum in Chandigarh’s Neelam Cinema which inspired him to be an actor.  Khurrana then went on to talk about the moments that he spend with Big B on the sets of Gulabo Sitabo as a co-star. Further in his penned down caption, the Gulabo Sitabo actor thanked filmmaker Shoojit Sircar for the amazing experience that he gave him the chance to feature in one frame with a superhero like Amitabh Bachchan. Thanking Sircar further, Ayushmann mentioned told the director that he is his teacher and mentioned that he has only reached where he is by holding his hand.
