Baaghi 3 Director Ahmed Khan Finds Thappad 'Strange', Says 'If I Slap My Wife She Can Slap Me And End It'; Taapsee Pannu Responds

Baaghi 3 director Ahmed Khan has now said that he finds Thappad strange, as the premise of the film is a slap deciding the destiny of a couple. Anubhav Sinha’s directorial venture Thappad garnered polls apart reviews. This Taapsee Pannu starrer shed light on several things, which got the audience's thinking. Also among the audience of this film was director Ahmed Khan, watching the film, the director was left with a strange feeling. And lead actress Taapsee too had a response on it, which might have left many nodding in agreement to actress’ bang on reply without sounding rude. The Baaghi 3 expressed his take on the movie during his movie promotions.
According to the director Thappad left him wondering as to how a slap can decide if the couple wants to stay together or part ways. To which Taapsee replied giving example of the movies he makes. According to reports in Mumbai Mirror, the actress felt just like he makes movies those interest him, similar applies to others as well. Also adding further ultimately it’s audience’s take on the movies which matters the most. Thappad had released just a week before Baaghi 3 had hit the screens.
Ahmed Khan was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror, “I found the concept of Thappad very strange. I don’t understand just because the husband slapped his wife, will she leave him forever? If she has a problem, she too should slap her husband twice in return.”
“If I ever slap my wife, she can slap me back and end it. If I tell her that I don’t want to be with her anymore, then she can also tell me the same. But, will a slap decide whether a couple can stay together or not? “We have always seen relationships where there is love and respect. But, there might be those kinds of relationships too, of which he is talking about. H can continue to make films he is comfortable with. We will do what we are comfortable doing,” adds the actress.
