Baahubali Star Prabhas Feels Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh Looks Better Than Arjun Reddy
Baahubali star Prabhas complimented Shahid Kapoor for his Kabir Singh teaser. The Tollywood star, over a 7-minute-long phone conversation told Kapoor that he feels Kabir Singh will be a notch higher than the original
A few days back, the makers of Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh, which is the official Hindi remake of 2017’s Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, released its teaser. While the Bollywood fraternity is all praises for Kapoor’s latest venture, it's Baahubali star Prabhas too, who watched the teaser and congratulated the actor over a phone call.
The two superstars were connected by celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim as he was shooting with Prabhas when the Baahubali star watched the teaser. He told DNA, “I was in Hyderabad shooting for Saaho with Prabhas, and the teaser of Kabir Singh had just launched online. Prabhas checked it out and loved it. Even his team members, who have enjoyed Arjun Reddy, felt that Shahid looked brilliant. Seeing Prabhas’ reaction to the promo, I called up Shahid and handed him the phone. The former praised him and said that Kabir Singh looks even better than the original. Both of them chatted for a good seven-odd minutes.”
Prabhas wil next be seen opposite Shraddha Kapoor in Saaho.
To talk about the Shahid’s character, he plays a doctor named Kabir Singh, who’s a rebel and goes on self-destruction way. A day back, Shahid had revealed that he used to take at least 2 hours to freshen up, after the smoking scenes, before going back to his kids. When the Udta Punjab actor was asked about the same, in a statement he had said, "I don't endorse smoking whatsoever. However, the role required it as the protagonist has this angst and rage within him. It wasn't easy and it came to a point where I smoked almost 20 cigarettes a day. It would take me close to 2 hours to freshen up before I returned home to my children.”
Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishna Kumar, Ashwin Varde and will be releasing on June 21, 2019.
