Alia Bhatt is on cloud nine. And why not? Her Badrinath Ki Dulhania co-star Varun Dhawan is beaming equally. Their film Badrinath Ki Dulhania has impressed and entertained audience.
The film, based in a small town, revolving around a couple’s love story, is spiraling only upwards. The film that minted Rs 12. 25 crores at the box office on its opening day, has now collected a total of Rs 43. 05 crores by the weekend.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, #BadrinathKiDulhania has a ROCKING weekend… Jumps past ₹ 40 cr mark… Day-wise growth says it all. Fri 12.25 cr, Sat 14.75 cr, Sun 16.05 cr. Total: ₹ 43.05 cr. India biz. EXCELLENT!”
Fabulous performances and good word-of-mouth, it's Badrinath Ki Dulhania only on every movie-buff's lips.
A happy Alia and Varun attended a Holi party this afternoon (SEE VIDEO ABOVE).
We hear, Sidharth Malhotra was already inside the party when the duo entered. The three had loads of fun.
No prizes for guessing that who's the happiest. Karan Johar, who produced Badrinathi Ki Dulhania, who else!
Alia and Varun's parents- Bhatts and Dhawans- are also naturally elated.
Varun spoke about the film during a recent award show. “It’s not a timepass film. It has a message in it and the best part is that people have understood the message. Critics have liked the film and even the audience is liking it,” he said.
Alia will soon start working with Ranbir Kapoor on Ayan Mukerji's Dragon, while on the other hand Varun will continue with Judwaa 2.
