After the horrific incident that happened in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras where reportedly four men gang-raped a 19-year old Dalit woman, amidst the outrage, the nation woke to another brutal rape case that occurred in Balrampur, UP. Reportedly, a 22-year-old Dalit woman died after being allegedly raped and assaulted by two men on Tuesday evening. Many social media users, as well as Bollywood celebs like Kriti Sanon, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Sonali Bendre, Kangana Ranaut and many more, expressed their rage over this heinous act. The latest one to react on it is Anushka Sharma who not only expressed her anger over this horrifying act but also exclaimed that there should be no mercy for rapists.
Taking a hard-hitting note to her Instagram stories, the soon-to-be-mom Anushka mentioned that such acts are even beyond comprehension and distressing. Her note read, "Barely any time has passed and we rehearsing of another brutal rape!?! In which world do such monsters think they can do this to a young life. This is beyond comprehension, so distressing! Is there any fear in the minds of such men? How do we as a society put fear in them and protect our women? #NoMercyForRapists #Balrampur."
Earlier, speaking about Hathras gang rape case, Anushka had posted a note on Instagram called for the strictest punishment for the culprits, "The horrific story of Hathras gang rape has devastated me..I sincerely hope that strictest punishment is given to the barbaric men who have carried out such a horrific, inhuman act on a young life and caused her family irreparable pain," she wrote.

According to a report in NDTV, the victim’s mother claimed that the men had injected her with some substance due to which she lost consciousness and they raped her. They broke her legs, they broke her back. A rickshaw-wallah brought her home. However, Balrampur Police tweeted last night saying that the autopsy report suggests otherwise as details about her hands and legs are not mentioned in the report and are not true.
