Batla House Box-Office Collection Day 9: John Abraham-Mrunal Thakur Starrer Inches Towards 70 Cr Mark

August 15 saw Desi Boyzz – Akshay Kumar and John Abraham – clashing at the box-office with their respective films- Mission Mangal and Batla House. While Mission Mangal which co-stars Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen and Sharman Joshi among others is leading at the box-office, Batla House is collecting good reviews but is struggling to reach Rs 100 cr mark. A while back we brought you Mission Mangal’s earning, which are Rs 135.99 Cr, here we bring to you Batla House’s day 9 collection. The film collected 4.15 cr on 2nd Friday, making a total collection of Rs 69.99 cr.

Tweeting the number, Trade Analayst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#BatlaHouse saw an upswing on [second] Fri... Aided by #Janmashtami festivities... Should maintain a steady trend on [second] Sat and Sun... Trending better than #SatyamevaJayate... [Week 2] Fri 4.15 cr. Total: ₹ 69.99 cr. India biz.”

SpotboyE Editor Vickey Lalwani rated Batla House with 3.5 stars and wrote, “John Abraham is at his impressive best, sinking into the character like there's no tomorrow. Hmmm... maybe his best performance till date. Watch him in the scene where he says goodbye to his wife Mrunal Thakur in the car. Watch him in the scene where his senior tells him to not refuse the medal of honour. Watch him in the scene where he has a long discussion with Nora Fatehi. The list is long.”

“The action sequences are just finesse and the camerawork, excellent. Advani has done a good job, if you overlook a bit of repitiveness that tends to crop up in patches. The long and short of Batla House is that it is housed well, but yes, could have been cosier,” his review read further.
