Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji's upcoming directorial 'Brahmastra’ has been making headlines ever since it was announced. The project marks Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s first on-screen collaboration and also stars megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotal roles. On Sunday, Ayan again released the trailer of the film, but this time in 4K. Notably, some eagle-eyed fans spot a mysterious woman walking out of a river in the trailer and are convinced she is Deepika Padukone. 

#DeepikaPadukone has been trending on the micro-blogging site Twitter with fans and netizens sharing the screenshots of the actress, claiming that she is playing a 'jal (water) character' in her ex-boyfriend Ranbir’s film. In the trailer, a mysterious woman was seen walking out of a river with a huge wave chasing her. Blue energy was seen radiating from her hand. The character wore a red saree with a matching blouse and jewellery on her feet.

 However, there was no clear glimpse of the character. But many fans claimed that she is Deepika. One user shared close-up screenshots of the 'jal (water) character and wrote, “Jal (water) character from #Brahmastra seems to look like Deepika Padukone (blue energy coming out from her hand). Earlier, eagle-eyed fans spot a glimpse of SRK in the trailer. Fans assumed that a giant figure made of fire, holding the trident with the supernatural lightning creature of Lord Hanuman was Shah Rukh Khan in the trailer. As per the India.com report, King Khan will be seen in a special cameo in the fantasy drama. He will essay the role of a scientist who has access to Brahmastra, which is said to be the most powerful weapon or force in the universe. 

Bankrolled by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner Dharma Productions, Brahmastra will hit the theatres on 9 September 2022.
