The clash between Aiyaary and Pad Man is out in the OPEN
now! A rift between Bollywood’s Brothers – Sidharth Malhotra and Akshay Kumar
is evident enough in the former’s latest interview. Sidharth is upset with the
makers of Pad Man about the box-office clash between the two films, even after
Aiyaary postponed its release date.
In an interview with DNA, when asked about the same, Sid has said, “This situation
could have resolved earlier, people could have stuck to their dates, respecting
others’ space. I was not expecting the makers of Pad Man to release their film
with us, especially the second time.”
Expressing his disappointment about the clash, “For us, our life is back to
square one. We thought that we were being gracious enough and moving forward
for an easy and solo release, so that more people could see our film. It was
also more of a production call, and rightfully so, as numbers are affected in a
way. But we were never shying away from a clash, it was purely to avoid three
movies hitting the marquee on January 26.”
Well, looks like Sid is mighty upset with his on-screen ‘Brother’!
A few weeks back, Aiyaary shifted its release date from January 26 to February
9 to avoid clash with Pad Man. However, Akshay too postponed the release date
of Pad Man to February 9, to give a free run to Padmaavat.
During the press
conference to announce the delay of Pad Man with Bhansali, when Akshay was asked what will happen to
Aiyaary if Pad Man clashes with it on February 9, the actor had said, “Tab ka tab
dekhenge.”
Aiyaary is directed by Neeraj Pandey (who is also not on very good terms with Akshay anymore) and also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam
Kher, Adil Hussain, Kumud Mishra and Pooja Chopra in pivotal roles.
Coming to Sidharth’s disappointment, let’s see if Akshay will be considerate once again or if Aiyaary will get postponed to a later date to avoid the clash.
