Chehre Producer Anand Pandit Says Rhea Chakraborty Has Gone Through Turmoil; ‘I Don’t Want To Take Undue Advantage Of Her Situation For Benefit Of My Film’
The film Chehre starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in key roles was scheduled to release on April 9, at first. However, due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in the city, the makers decided to postpone the release. An announcement about the postponement of Chehre was done by the makers on March 30. Apart from this, actress Rhea Chakraborty’s name missing from the second Chehre poster raised a lot of eyebrows. Now, in an interview, film producer Anand Pandit reveals the reason behind it. And, he also talks about Chehre’s postponement.

Speaking with Indian Express, Anand Pandit mentioned he does not find any reason for not mentioning Rhea Chakraborty’s name in the poster of the film Chehre. When asked how he sees such stepping stones while designing a film’s promotional strategy, the producer said, “I don’t see any reason for not mentioning her name. She is among the eight artistes in the film. We signed her much earlier and she completed her part satisfactorily. So, we are looking at her as one of the actors who’s done a good job.”

Anand Pandit then shared that he also does not want to take undue advantage of Rhea Chakraborty’s situation for the commercial benefit of his film. He continued, “Also, I don’t want to take undue advantage of her situation for the commercial benefit of my film. That’s why we decided that for the second poster, we won’t mention her name. She’s gone through enough turmoil in her life, and we didn’t want to add more ripples. We got her into the picture, only when she was comfortable.”

Talking about the release of the film Chehre, Pandit said, “It’s a very challenging time to release a movie in theatres, not only business wise, but also in terms of marketing.” The producer also said that Chehre needs to be seen on the big screen. Meanwhile, Chehre stars Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Annu Kapoor, Krystle D’Souza, Dhritiman Chatterjee, and Rhea Chakraborty.
