Chunky Panday Says Ananya Panday And Rysa Are 'Deeply Affected' By Their Grandmother Snehlata's Demise: ‘At Times, They Are Uncontrollable’

Chunky Panday’s mother and Ananya Panday’s grandmother, Snehlata Panday, passed away due to prolonged illness on June 10. While the entire family is yet to come to terms with the loss of the backbone of their family, Chunky has opened up about how her daughters Ananya and Rysa, who were very close to their grandma, are deeply affected. While speaking to Etimes, the actor also mentioned that he has decided to celebrate his mother's life instead of mourning her loss.
“My mom was the backbone of the family and now, at home, it's like a vacuum. It is an unexplainable loss. But I want to celebrate my mother's life as she lived a great life. Both my kids, Ananya and Rysa were so close to their daadi. Since they are young and tender, her demise has really affected them,” Chunky was quoted as saying.
He added, “They are yet to come to terms with the fact that their grandma is no more. At times, they are uncontrollable, but I try to be strong and make them understand that their grandma led a great life and now we have to continue her legacy.”
Speaking about his late mother’s inspiring journey, the Housefull 4 actor revealed that his mother was born with a rare heart defect in Pakistan and that she was not supposed to live beyond the age of 10 or 15 but she actually lived till 85.
“She was always happy; I never saw her sad in her life. I found her happy for no reason sometimes but she was a very positive person. I have travelled with her everywhere and I was known as a mama's boy. Normally heroines used to take their mother along with them while travelling for films, I was the only hero who travelled with his mom. And since I didn't have any steady girlfriend, I used to take my mother everywhere. I am glad that she got to see the world with me,” Chunky Panday further said.
For the unversed, Ananya Panday’s grandmother, Snehlata breathed her last at the age of 85. Many Bollywood stars visited Chunky’s house to pay their respects. Scores of Ananya’s closest friends, including rumoured boyfriend Ishaan Khatter, Arora Sisters- Malaika, Amrita, Karisma Kapoor with her daughter Samara and Navya Naveli Nanda among others visited Chunky Panday’s residence to offer their condolences to the family.
