CONFIRMED: Aishwarya Rai To Recreate Nargis’ Multiple Personality Disorder Role From Raat Aur Din

In the last few days, speculations have been rife about
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being a part of Raat Aur Din (1967)
remake. It has now been confirmed by
KriArj Entertainment’s Prernaa Arore that the actress has been roped in
for the film.
“Working with Aishwarya on Fanne Khan has been a pleasure. Now, there
are two more films we are collaborating on with her. Siddharth Anand will be
co-producing the film with me, which is an edgy thriller. This film will see
Aishwarya in a double role and we will soon finalise the leading man opposite her,” confirms Arora to Mumbai Mirror.
“It will be a homage to Nargisji and is a special project for all of us.
Aishwarya has already said that she would love to play the main role. I have
also discussed the project with Sanjay sir (Dutt), and he has approved of the
idea and our choice of Ash to play the role originally essayed by his late
actress-mother,” she added further.
Aishwarya, who has wrapped -up Fanne Khan, a film which also stars Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in key roles, will start working on this untitled thriller in March-April. So, we are assuming that the remake of Nargis starrer 1967 film, Raat Aur Din, will go on floors only after that.
A source close to the development added,
“The film is ready to go on the floors and is expected to be shot in Europe
mid-next year.
Raat Aur Din, directed by Satyaen Bose, starred Nargis in two avatars. Her
character suffered from multiple personality disorder in the film. Nargis also
won a National Award for her performance as Varuna in the film.
