De De Pyaar De, Weekend Box-Office Collection: Ajay Devgn's Twisted Love Story Hangs Tight
The recently released rom-com De De Pyaar De starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh in main roles is doing well at the box-office. The movie started off on a promising note with collections of Rs 10.41 crore on the opening day followed by more than 50% growth on second day with numbers of around Rs 13.39 crore and now the third day numbers are here.

On Sunday, the film’s business was slightly affected due to polling in some parts, but nonetheless, the numbers are decent. The film minted Rs 14.74 crore that takes its weekend business to Rs 38.54 crore. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#DeDePyaarDe witnesses day-wise growth... Biz was affected on Day 3 due to polling in some parts... Mumbai and Delhi-NCR plexes lead... Weekdays crucial... Fri 10.41 cr [incl Thu previews], Sat 13.39 cr, Sun 14.74 cr. Total: ₹ 38.54 cr. India biz. #DDPD”

According to Box Office India, the film could have raked in bigger numbers on Sunday, but due to elections, the numbers were held back to a large extent. Even though, the film earned mixed reviews from critics, the actors earned appreciation for their performances. SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani rated the film 3.5 stars and was all praise for Akiv Ali, the director who marked his debut with the film.

He also had the best words to describe the characters essayed by Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet as he wrote, “Watch Tabu in the scene where she tells Devgn 'Ab main thak chuki hoon'. Watch Rahul in the scene where she confronts Tabu after Tabu and Devgn go to bed without her knowledge. Watch Devgn in the scene when he speaks through his eyes when his daughter blames him for her marriage proposal having gone down the drain.”
