Deepika Padukone Speaks Up For Bhansali, Says ‘No Distortion Of History In Padmavati’
Until now we witnessed a host of Bollywood celebrities expressing their angst and disgust on the shameful incidence which took place yesterday on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati in Jaipur, where the celebrated filmmaker was attacked by a furious mob, accusing him of tampering with the historical facts related to Rani Padmavati.

However, we wondered what happened to the star cast of the film-Ranveer, Deepika & Shahid. How come none of them have come out to speak for the issue till now?

And just then, Deepika Padukone who plays Padmavati in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, shared these messages on her Twitter handle. She writes, “In a state of shock! Deeply saddened and disheartened by yesterday's events!#Padmavati As Padmavati I can assure you that there is absolutely no distortion of history.#Padmavati Our only endeavour is & has always been to share with the world the story of this courageous & powerful woman in the purest form there is.”







Meanwhile, Shahid and Ranveer too have condemned the attack.








Just a while ago we told you that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided to cancel the Jaipur shoot and asked the crew to head back to Mumbai.

The step was an obvious one as the ace filmmaker must be under the shock of what happened yesterday on his film Padmavati’s set in Jaipur. The Padmavati crew had erected a huge set at Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur, where a number of important scenes of the film were to be shot. The stage was set and the cameras were ready to roll. However, the moment Karni Sena activists got a whiff of the matter, they landed on the set and began damaging it. Reason? Distortion of historical facts, they say. While his team tried to protect SLB, a blow landed straight on the cowering, unarmed, filmmaker.

The issue is becoming bigger with time. Let’s see what actions SLB and Team Padmavati take against this ghastly incident.
