Ankita Lokhande has reflected on her past decisions and revealed that she once turned down some big-budget movies because of her desire to get married to her ex-boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress shared that she feels sad for making some 'wrong decision' in her life, but she never regrets it because she made the decisions of her own will.
‘Ankita Lokhande’ became a household name following her stint in Pavitra Rishta alongside Sushant Singh Rajput. Apart from playing the role of husband-wife on-screen, the duo also started dating in real life and became one of the much-loved couples back in those days. However, they called off their relationship in 2016, leaving everyone heartbroken. While Sushant’s career was taking a hike, Ankita received her fair share of opportunities; but she chose to prioritise her relationship over work, and let go of many such opportunities.
During a recent interview with ETimes, reminisced on her decision, and said that she doesn’t regret it. Ankita pointed out that she can be ‘sad’ about having made the ‘wrong decision’, but she chooses not to be regretful because she made the decisions willingly.
But she admitted that she’d made ‘wrong decisions’ at the time, and said that she’d want to work hard to get back in a position where she’s offered such work. The actress stated that she is living her ‘dream life’ currently with her husband Vicky Jain so she isn’t upset about how her career has panned out.
Providing more details about the Bajirao Mastani episode in an earlier interview with Bollywood Bubble, she said, “I remember Sanjay sir called me and said, ‘Kar le Bajirao varna yaad rakh, pachtayegi tu (Do Bajirao Mastani or you else you will regret it later).’ He was literally praising me and Sanjay sir saying that is a very big thing. Then I was like, ‘Nahi sir, mujhe shaadi karni hai (No, sir. Ankita was also approached for a role in Farah Khan’s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Happy New Year, but ended up not taking it on for similar reasons.
