Dilip Kumar And Raj Kapoor’s Ancestral House Owner Refuses To Sell Property On Pakistan Govt’s Rates; Demands Rs 25 Crores And Rs 200 Crores
The issue of the ancestral houses of legendary actors Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor has been grabbing headlines since inception. The latest reports suggest that the owners of these mansions have refused to sell the property at the government’s fixed given rates. As per the reports in PTI, the owner of Dilip Kumar’s palatial house, Haji Lal Muhammad has demanded Rs. 25 crores from the provincial government in Pakistan when the given rate is Rs 80.56 lakh, hence, the owner is not ready to sell off the property which has been declared as national heritage.

Muhammad who purchased the property in 2005 for Rs 51 lakh after completing all formalities said it is unfair on part of the government to fix the rate at Rs 80.56 lakh for the property after 16 years. Nevertheless, the reports further mentioned that he will charge Rs 25 crore via his lawyer. On the other hand, a similar thing happened with Raj Kapoor’s palatial house where the owner is demanding for Rs 200 crore while the government’s fixed rate is Rs 1.50 cores. The owner of Kapoor Haveli never wanted to demolish this masterpiece for the commercial market but wanted to hand it over to the government for Rs. 200 crores.

However, the problem is yet to be materialised and we have to see what will be the final decision. The provincial government in Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has decided to purchase their ancestral houses, to preserve the national pride. The palatial houses were built in the undivided country and both Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor's houses are situated close to each other as they lie in the heart of Peshawar city.
