In an interview, Saira revealed her and Dilip Saab's fairytale love story. She revealed that it was love at first sight for her, as she fell in love with Dilip Saab at the age of 12. Then she first met Dilip Saab at the screening of his superhit film Mughal-E-Azam, when she was 16. At that time Dilip Saab smiled at her and complimented her saying that she's a pretty girl. Saira was completely mesmerized by his charms.
Unlike other girls who fell for him, Saira felt different. She said that she knew that she'll be married to him one day. And Saira ji's mother Naseem Banu was an important factor in their love story as she acted as a cupid for them. And finally one day, the thing that Saira was waiting for, happened and Dilip Saab proposed to her at a long drive. Saira instantly said yes and both tied the knot when Saira was 22 years old.
Although they were in love, some people criticized them because Saira ji was nearly half of Dilip Saab's age at that time.
